Private beta — build 799: vinyl spinbacks and flashing FX lights.
Vinyl waveform spinbacks
- In VINYL mode, flick the scrolling waveform right and release to spin backward. Flick left for a forward spin. Stronger flicks carry farther and slow naturally.
- A playing deck returns to playback speed; a stopped deck coasts to rest. Hold still before releasing for a scratch release without momentum, or grab again to catch the spin.
- SLIP keeps the underlying track moving and returns to it when the spin finishes. Active loops continue to confine the spin.
- VINYL SPEED shapes recovery: Start controls a playing deck and Brake controls a stopped deck. Spinbacks also work with VINYL SPEED off.
- CDJ waveform dragging and the TOUCH nudge controls keep their existing behavior.
Flashing FX indicator
The Beat FX ON light flashes while the effect is engaged and stops when switched off. Reduce Motion uses steady illumination.

Private beta — build 795: AutoMix returns to original tempo.
AutoMix tempo return
- After the outgoing deck is silent, the incoming track gradually returns to its original tempo and finishes at 0%.
- The return follows the track’s beatgrid, easing in and out. Larger tempo differences take longer, with shorter returns when the track has less time remaining.
- The next track can load during the return. AutoMix plans its transition after the tempo has settled, avoiding stale tempo matches.
- Pause suspends the return. Manual tempo control, Take Over or turning AUTO off cancels it at the current speed. Skip plans the next mix from the speed you hear now.

Private beta — build 793: deck controls within reach.
Two-deck controls
- Beatgrid and Vinyl Speed controls now use the spare space below each full two-deck pane.
- Nudge the grid by a selectable millisecond step, move it by half or whole beats, or set the downbeat directly. More… opens the full tempo tools.
- Switch vinyl braking on and adjust brake and start times without opening a menu. The inline controls and menu settings stay in sync.
- The strip appears when the window has enough room, preserving waveform space. Compact and four-deck layouts retain their existing tools.
Included from the previous update
The Phaser, Flanger, Robot and Sound Color FX character improvements remain included, alongside the AutoMix, Wi-Fi Link Export and Perform layout updates.

Wi-Fi Export update
Build 787 adds Wi-Fi to the normal Link Export network choices. Automatic prefers ready Ethernet and falls back to Wi-Fi; you can also choose Wi-Fi explicitly. Connect this Mac to the same local network as the players, then choose Go Online.
Perform and browsing
- Perform opens with two decks by default. Startup sizing reserves space for the mixer, including when the Next Up panel was left open.
- Deck controls fit inside their cards, and the bright background around the BPM readout has been removed. The Follow master control stays inside its panel.
- Fixes drag-start handling that could extend the library selection when picking up a track to load onto a deck. Deliberate multi-track drags remain supported.
- Grid Tools adds 10, 25 and 50 ms adjustments between the fine 5 ms step and half a beat.
Auto mix
- Completed mixes park the outgoing deck with its fader down. Auto mode can prepare the next track without a manual eject, and the next transition raises that channel again.
- Improves handoff behavior, avoids manual vinyl braking or CDJ stutter during automatic retirement, and moves retired audio-buffer cleanup off the interface thread.
- Supports 48- and 64-bar blends for suitable long intros and outros. Phrase and drop positions, beatgrid stability, levels and available vocal analysis guide the overlap. The planner chooses a shorter blend when the music or analysis does not support a longer one.
- Existing maximum-length settings are preserved. Choose Allow 64-bar blends in Settings ▸ Auto Mix to extend a saved 32-bar limit. At 128 BPM, 64 bars is two minutes.
- Improves fader progress after delayed interface updates and keeps manually selected mix cues authoritative.

Auto mix
- Fixes transitions that silently failed to raise the incoming fader. Auto mix checks that the incoming deck can play, starts it reliably, and reports a transition that fails to arrive.
- SYNC owns phase alignment. Auto mix no longer holds or retreats the incoming fader while waiting for alignment.
- Choose the next record with the NEXT action on a browser row, the N key in the Perform browser, or a drop onto the Next record. The change action opens the browser to pick another track.
- An eligible record you loaded and cued by hand can become the incoming deck without being reloaded or moved away from its cue.
- Persistent notices explain blocked or interrupted transitions in the Next Up panel, collapsed rail and relevant deck header. Bug reports can include the session's auto-mix ledger.
Vocals
- On-device vocal detection adds vocal bars to phrase lanes and vocal windows to the transition rail.
- With vocal analysis on both records, auto mix looks for a cleaner mix point, a shorter blend or a cut to reduce vocal clashes. If a clash remains, it warns you. Detection is an estimate; tracks awaiting analysis have no vocal protection yet.
- Avoid vocal clashes is in Settings ▸ Auto Mix. Detect vocals and background progress are in Settings ▸ Library. Both are on by default; no audio is uploaded for detection.
Perform and browsing
- Dragging the scrolling waveform follows the deck's VINYL/CDJ mode. TOUCH and the adjoining jog strip always provide a gentle CDJ nudge while playing, or frame search while stopped.
- Deck letters are larger in full, compact and collapsed layouts.
- Ending a session or leaving Perform closes Grid Tools cleanly.
- The chevron beside Mixable opens its rules: compatible key, tempo range, half/double tempo matching and unknown keys. Each table remembers its choices without changing auto-mix policy.
- Mixable follows the master deck. A manual reference choice lasts until the master next changes.
- The deck refresh clock continues during menu tracking, including the cue-output menu. Settings defers its Advanced emulator model until that pane is opened.
